Dear 10th Grade Families:
It was a pleasure, as always, to see many of you at this morning’s parent forum. I very much enjoyed our discussion about Jonathan Haidt’s Anxious Generation, and hope to continue the conversation in the days ahead. Jessica Grose’s recent NYT piece on technology in the classroom is also worth a read, and if you’re looking for thoughtful critiques of Haidt’s conclusions, I recommend the Times’s “Matter of Opinion” podcast or this recent interview with Kara Swisher.
Two important items I promised to follow up on:
- Here is a copy of the waiver you’ll need to sign in order for your child to participate in our June 6th field trip to Urban Air trampoline park. Advisors will be collecting signed forms ahead of the event. Students will also need to bring some spending money for lunch in downtown Englewood that afternoon.
- My goal is to have advisors distribute updated copies of course lists by Friday 5/31. We will not be asking you to sign and submit these forms, but we do want to make sure you see the final selections that we are sending to the scheduler. If your child hasn’t brought home a form by the first week of June, then please let me know and I’ll email you a pdf.
