Dear 12th grade parents and caregivers,
I’m writing to check in and to let you know how the day went for the seniors.  We started the morning with an Upper School meeting in the Gym, followed by time for students to go to either Advisory or Affinity spaces. We then met as a grade for a Class meeting before transitioning to our regularly scheduled school day.  In the course of my conversations with the seniors today, students shared a range of experiences, feelings, and emotions.  For some, today was incredibly difficult; for others, today felt like an attempt to resume a sense of normalcy.  And for still others, today was a mixture of simultaneous things that were, and are, challenging to articulate.  In my conversation with the seniors during our Class meeting, I told them that I didn’t presume to know what they were thinking or feeling, and that oftentimes, how we feel can even vary moment to moment.  What I did want to communicate for sure to each of the students was that we care about them deeply.  I reiterated that we are here to help them in whatever ways we can and will do so to the best of our ability.

I look forward to seeing the seniors tomorrow, and to helping them as we move through the days and weeks ahead.  This is a difficult time, and my hope is that as we move forward, they will finish the year well, supporting each other these last few months of the year.  As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Thank you so much,

Jeremy
