Dear 10th Grade Parents and Caregivers,

As always, it was delightful being with you on campus last night! I hope that hearing from Jeremy Gregerson, Kim Lalli, Eileen Feikens, and me helped to demystify the goals and philosophy of our academic program overall, and to clear up any questions you may have had about planning for junior year in particular. If you were unable to attend, please look over the Class of 2026 slide deck and reach out to me with any questions.

Please remember that there is an “Academic Scheduling Resources” widget on the Resources page of MyDE, which contains links to the 2024-25 Course of Study, as well as any other relevant forms and applications your students may need throughout this process.

Finally, Kim Lalli mentioned that we are working on some division-wide programming for parents and faculty around Jennifer Wallace’s excellent book Never Enough, which I discussed at our fall parent forum. I encourage you to check it out if you haven’t already! I (like many of you) am also currently reading Jonathan Haidt’s The Anxious Generation, and I look forward to sharing some of my takeaways at our spring forum on the morning of April 30th.

Best regards,

Emily
