Happy March, everyone! Spring Break is just on the other side of P.A.W., building both excitement and (perhaps) a bit of trepidation for students. As we enter the weekend, I just wanted to share some reminders for next week and the month after we return.
P.A.W.
All students should have a solid understanding of their P.A.W schedule and how to prepare for each class’s assessment. Please see this document, outlining guidelines for the week, and specific information on attendance and assessment meeting times. Specifically, please note the policy and procedure if a student is absent due to illness.

If a student misses an experience due to illness, they must provide a doctor’s note to the school. If a student misses a class and does not provide a note, there will be implications for their grade in the class.

If your student is sick and unable to attend school for any of their assessments next week, please email usattendance@d-e.org and me so that I can reach out to their teacher(s) and schedule time for them to make up the work. The expectation will be that the student will make up any assessment(s) later in the week with their classroom teacher(s), or on Friday, March 8 with me. All assessments need to be completed prior to Spring Break.

Course Registration and Curriculum Night
Earlier this week, we began talking to students about course requests and registration this Spring. In order to provide more detailed information on the process, students in grades 9-11 will attend a Scheduling Assembly on Wednesday, March 27, and parents will attend Curriculum Night on Tuesday, April 2. Stay tuned for more information on the time and location of Curriculum Night when we return from break.

Spring Parents’ Forum – Save the Date
Our second Parents Forum of the year will be held Monday, April 29 at 7:00pm. More information will follow in a Dean’s Memo after break.

Stay in touch

I am proud to partner with each of you in helping the Class of 2027 navigate their first year in high school, and I hope you will continue to reach out to me if you have questions, concerns, observations, or suggestions along the way. Although the first leg of our journey will come to a close a short eleven (11) weeks after we return from break, I know there is nothing we can’t accomplish together. Please know I am here to listen to, to talk with, and to act on behalf of our amazing students.
Wishing you a great day and a wonderful weekend.
