Dear 11th Grade Families,
Greetings, and I hope all is well as we make our way through the thick of the winter. Between delays, snow days, the end of one semester and the beginning of another, it was an admittedly choppy January. Thankfully, we have just had two full weeks without interruption and we’re settling into a more consistent rhythm at D-E. And even though we’re very much in the middle of winter, I have several updates that will take us into spring.
Performance and Assessments Week (PAW) is 1 month away and will run the week of March 4. PAW experiences will run from Monday to Thursday that week, and Friday, the 8th will be used for make-ups if needed. Kim Lalli shared a Google Sheet with all of the students (named, “PAW Plans – March 2024”) listing the types of experiences (such as projects, exams, presentations) that will be held in each class. I encourage 11th graders to use this document to preview what their schedule will look like that week, and they can come to me with any questions they may have about it.
Following on the footsteps of PAW, our spring break runs the weeks of March 11 and March 18, and thinking even further ahead, the College Counseling Office will hold Junior Families College Night on April 15, so be sure to “save the date” for that event. The College Counseling Office will provide more detailed information as we get closer to that date.
I wish you all the best, and as you can see from my email, we already have spring (and sunny days!) on our minds at D-E. Have a great weekend!
Warm Regards,
Brian
