Beginning on Tuesday, October 10th the following adjustment to the Upper School attendance guidelines will be implemented:
1. Students in the Upper School, grades 9-12, have permission to come to campus ahead of their first obligation rather than be required to be on campus at the start of the school day.
2. All students are required to attend School Meetings on Monday & Wednesday and Advisory meetings on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. A pattern of tardiness to a student’s first obligation following a free period will result in the loss of the “come free” privilege for a period of time determined by the Dean.
3. If students have a free period at the start of the day, they are all expected to “check in” via the QR codes posted around campus on the doors to Upper School buildings when they arrive to school. This is a matter of safety – we must know who is on campus in the event of an emergency. A pattern of failing to do so will result in the loss of the “come free” privilege for a period of time determined by the Dean. We hope and expect that students will understand the value of this privilege and care for it accordingly: that they will respect the expectations outlined above, use this free time wisely (for rest or, when needed, to meet with classmates or teachers), and to arrive promptly to their first obligations.
A few relevant reminders:
● Students must be on campus by 10am in order to participate in after school activities
● Patterns of tardiness to any classes will result in a Detention being assigned
● Students are still required to sign-out if they are leaving campus before the end of
their academic obligations & students in grades 9-11 are required to sign out if they
leave campus before the end of the school day. Parent/Guardian notification is
required.
