We’ve got spirit, yes we do! We’ve got spirit, how about YOU!

image.png October 16-20 is Spirit Week here at D-E: a week full of fun activities, grade-level challenges, friendly competition, sporting events, and food, culminating in the Homecoming dance. The week’s events are to help bring us together as a class and as a school, and to combine our efforts to raise funds for a worthy cause. Our new class representatives called a meeting Thursday to share information, organize, and get the class hyped, and we are READY! Just so that you know what to expect for the week, and so you are not confused when you see your child/children leaving the house each day in crazy dress, I wanted to share the themes for each dress-up day.

Monday, October 16
THEME: Pajama Day – Wear pajamas to school

Tuesday, October 17
THEME: Jersey Day – Wear the jersey of your favorite sports team

Wednesday, October 18
THEME: Pink Day – Wear Pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Thursday, October 19
THEME: Adam Sandler/Baggy Clothes Day – Wear baggy clothes and channel your favorite Adam Sandler character

Friday, October 20
THEME: Spirit Day – Wear your blue D-E gear to support our team.
Homecoming dance: 7:30-10:30 pm in Modell’s Sports Complex. Tickets can be purchased online here.

Meet the Student Representatives for the Freshman Class

Last Wednesday, 27 of the members of the Class of 2027 presented speeches to their peers outlining the reasons why they wanted to serve as class representatives to student government this year. Everyone did an excellent job and the class listened attentively and voted that morning for their top six (6) choices. Based on that election, the following students were elected as class representatives.

Adesola Afonja
Nic Bevilacqua
Sebastian Chang
Noah Fischer – Class Coordinator
Leah Gavilan
Kayla Hong
Spirit Week is their first activity as new members of student government, and they have already shown themselves to be great leaders, organizers, and agents in bringing our class closer together.
Be well and have a safe and wonderful weekend. See you soon!
