Dear Upper School Families,
It is my pleasure to invite you to Back-to-School Night on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.
This event offers you the opportunity to meet your student’s teachers and advisor, and hear about the
year’s curriculum in each course. It’s also a nice way to meet and re-connect with other families and
with the school after a long and eventful summer. If you are new to Dwight-Englewood, it’s a great
opportunity to continue to meet other members of the community.
“School” will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9:44 p.m. You will have ten minutes in each classroom with
enough passing time to get comfortably from room to room. During “free periods” you are welcome to
come to the dining hall for refreshments; or perhaps you might like to visit the School Store on the
ground floor of Campus Center.
Please come to Schenck Auditorium for our opening school meeting and to pick up your schedule for the
evening. We urge you to arrive a bit early if you can because parking can get tricky later in the evening.
I also want to invite you to the first of a series of parent gatherings, organized by the class
representatives to the Parents’ Association. This informal gathering presents the chance to talk more
generally about school life, both academic and social. Each class Dean and I will be there for the
conversation. Further information will follow from the Parents’ Association. Each grade parent
gathering will be on campus as follows:
Ninth Grade – Thursday, November 10 @ 8:30 a.m.
Tenth Grade – Tuesday, November 1 @ 7 p.m.
Eleventh Grade – Thursday, October 27 @ 7 p.m.
Twelfth Grade – Wednesday, October 26 @ 7 p.m.
